What do we do with donations?
Donations fund the infrastructure, development, and maintenance of Nudge. This includes hosting for messaging and calling servers, continuous security and privacy improvements, post-quantum cryptography integration, app updates across iOS, iPadOS, macOS, and Android, and the engineering work needed to keep communication secure without selling user data or showing ads.
Who benefits?
Everyone who uses Nudge benefits: teams that need private, end-to-end encrypted communication; individuals who value privacy; and organizations that can't afford leaks or interception. Donations also support the broader open-source ecosystem—Nudge builds on projects like Post-Quantum Solace and other privacy-focused tools, and sustaining Nudge helps sustain that work.
Why donations instead of ads or data sales?
Nudge is built on the principle that secure communication should not depend on harvesting user data or serving ads. Donations keep Nudge independent: we can focus on privacy, security, and reliability without the conflicts of interest that come from monetizing attention or personal information.
Can I cancel a monthly donation?
Yes. Monthly donations can be managed or canceled anytime through Stripe's secure billing portal. Open the donation management page
